PMC are looking to recruit a highly competent Procurement Manager, to join our business and help us to grow and develop over the coming years. Your role will be to build relationships with not only our existing suppliers, but to source new suppliers to support our product development.
Reporting to the Operations Director, you will be responsible for buying the best quality equipment, goods and services for the company at the most competitive prices.  You will oversee supply chain management and procurement on a world-wide scale. Working closely with our Research & Development department you and your team will be responsible for resourcing new components within the Audio and Loudspeaker manufacturing environment.

  • The role of the Procurement Manager will include:
  • Analysis and monitoring of supplier performance
  • Providing accurate and timely reporting to Company Directors and the Senior Management Team
  • Monitor and maintain cost of sales and purchasing budget in line with annual business plan
  • Maintain stock levels of raw materials in line with demand
  • Building of strong working relationships and communications with suppliers
  • Conducting research to ascertain the best products and suppliers in terms of best value, delivery and quality
  • Source new materials and parts in line with New Product development team which match target cost, quality and spec.
  • Identify cost saving opportunities to achieve overall reduction in cost of parts
  • Negotiating favorable terms with suppliers
  • Reporting and communicating internally with the operations team and overall business
  • Setting up formal supplier SLAs to enhance supplier performance where necessary
  • Forecasting price trends and managing any price increases with suppliers including negotiations and the internal process for approval
  • Supervising and managing the purchasing team’s performance and staff
  • Maintain Production Schedule based on stock levels and demand set by Operations Director in line with lead times from suppliers with a minimum 3 month horizon
  • Look to reduce lead time of key products with suppliers, to increase flexibility of Operations and meet customer demand
  • Enhancing the purchasing function and looking for ways to continuously improve its operation.


Desirable Attributes
The successful Procurement Manager should possess the following:

  • 5-10 years’ experience within procurement management, ideally within the audio and loudspeaker manufacturing sector.
  • Experience of managing a small procurement team.
  • Carrying our coaching, training, and development within a business environment.
  • Experience of working as part of a Senior Management team.
  • Excellent computer skills – Microsoft Windows 10, Excel, Word, MRP (Sage 50)
  • Excellent analytical problem-solving skills.
  • Self-motivated, able to use your own initiative,
  • Excellent time management, planning and organisational skills.
  • Excellent communication skills to build cohesive working relationships.
  • Promote the highest levels of internal and external customer service.
  • Hold a current driving license as you will be required to travel between our production sites in Luton, and Sandy, and our Head Office at Biggleswade.
  • UK and international travel may be required.
  • Passion for music and interest in audio and electronics is advantageous.
