Warehouse Manager

PMC are looking to recruit a highly motivated and reliable individual to join our small, but very busy warehousing team.  This is a new role which is based at Luton, but you will be required to travel to our Sandy warehouse on a regular basis.  This is a hands-on role, where you will be required to ensure your small team are providing the highest level of service to both out internal production team manufacturing our loudspeakers. As well as ensuring our externally suppliers are being provided the highest level of service.
You will be a key member of the operational management team, reporting to the Operations Director. You will work closely with all areas of the business to ensure we meet our sales / production targets.
You will be responsible for the following key duties and responsibilities:


Stock Management

  • Monitor and maintain stock accuracy through daily, weekly, monthly and yearly stock takes and accuracies on our IT system.
  • Review of obsolete and slow-moving stock items and support review and management of these parts.
  • Ensure delivered parts are booked onto the system within 24 hours.
  • Liaising with customers, suppliers, and transport companies to ensure stock has all the necessary paperwork to be processed in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Specifically manage and execute an annual stock take of all PMC stock within the business and successfully report and update stock records accordingly.
  • Manage the location of stock through our sage system and ensure that all stock is stored in the correct locations.


Production

  • Supporting production through picking of raw materials to be delivered on time and in full
  • Processing of works orders completed by production and monitoring and maintaining this process.
  • Manage the finished good process for UK and Export of goods worldwide.
  • Being part of a process of continuous improvement, to ensure the highest levels of customer service are being adhered to both internally and externally.
  • Ensure that all staff are trained on the goods in processes and procedures.
  • Producing regular reports, attend management meetings, hold regular meetings with operational team to identify areas for improvements.


Staff Management

  • Ensure all staff maintain and use equipment to the highest standards.
  • Recruit, induct, coach, train and develop warehouse operatives to meet the standards required to perform their duties
  • Manage day to day staff operations implementing rota’s, team briefs, monitor and managing performance, carrying out probationary reviews, annual appraisals, coaching and giving feedback on a regular basis on performance.
  • Train employees on IT system, implementing best practice through ensuring the internal communication is maintained within the team and across departments.
  • Implement all health and safety, hygiene, security and company policies and procedures to the highest standard.

 

Desirable attributes

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience managerial role within distribution or warehousing.
  • Proven managerial experience of managing a small team.
  • Ability to build skills, knowledge and behaviour to develop a new team.
  • Planning, organisation and time management skills to coach and delegate responsibilities.
  • Excellent teamworking, leadership and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Logical reasoning, able to think on your feet and resolve problems, able to provide solutions to support change.
  • Initiative, enthusiasm and decisiveness, self-motivated and can problem solve
  • Ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines
  • Passion for providing the highest levels of customer service and build a strong work ethic
  • Ability to multitask with high attention to detail and accuracy
  • IT literates, Excel, Word and Sage preferable
  • Numerical skills
  • Access to your own vehicle & a full UK driver’s licence advantageous.
  • Being able to drive a Fork Lift Truck would be advantageous
